Tiffany v. Debbie. The much better singer, Tiffany, descended into total obscurity in less time than you can say "E! True Hollywood Story" while Debbie "Deborah" Gibson went on (literally) to dance on rooftops in London's West End, sell her own perfume, found a youth empowerment camp called "Camp Electric Youth," have her New York apartment showcased in an issue of In Touch, and the like. Why is that?
"I know it's just cos it's raining but I do appreciate it."*** I remember being in London, watching TV and thinking how lucky I was to be seeing this out-of-nowhere, impromptu sing-a-long with Cliff Richard at Wimbledon. Everyone cheered enthusiastically and sincerely, I thought. I was completely head over heels in love with England at this time. [Actually Part 2 is better but Part 1 is a good place to start.]
Heath Ledger singing to Julia Stiles. I was in Singapore taking a break from studying for the microeconomics test that I eventually scored a C on, and this scene had me completely floored. And right after that I wrote an email to Jayster saying I wish I had an Australian boyfriend.

***And then I found this: "Sir Cliff's Wimbledon singalong was all a PR stunt", by Aidan Smith. Darn it all.
