Jocelyn Tan's story on the weird week in Malaysian politics had this quote from a PAS official: "The allegations are God's way of reminding him that he is human. He thought he was Ultraman, flying so high, fighting monsters.”
In a nutshell: He thought he was Da Bomb. But God's shown him who's the REAL boss. Ha ha. That'll show him.
The unabridged version: Being human means you're weak. You must always remember that. There's no such thing as greatness in a human being. Only God is great, so, don't ever aim for "great." You're nothing but a snivelling weasel -- never, ever forget that. In fact, we are all a nation of snivelling weasels, and the sooner we accept this fact the better. Nothing can top God, certainly not us. So, we should never let it cross our minds by one millimeter that we could even be a teeny, tiny bit "great". If we build things, God will certainly make them come down. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow. But one day, for sure. So, just lay low and do the minimum, so as not to have to come down too much on that inevitable day when God makes you tumble. Better yet, don't do anything at all. That way, God will see no reason to make you fall. Aim for nothing. Why? Because you're a big fat NOTHING. Don't ever, ever forget that.
