Again on the U.S. Presidential race

I didn't have my computer with me while watching Sarah Palin at the RNC, in fact I had my knitting with me. So I didn't have a means to capture any quotable quotes from the speech she just gave. But in summary, I thought she did a terrific job in energizing the Republican Party's party, which had been lackluster to date, and she does a great job in helping sever John McCain from the Republican Party of George Bush and Co. and to redefine him as Maverick. She's truly provincial (see my previous post), but what else do you expect? This is a race for the Presidency and Vice Presidency of the United States, not of the world. And it is certain she would make a very competent and charming Vice President of this country. Sometimes we observers on the sidelines forget the fact that America is a country of inward-looking Christians, which deserves to continue being a country of inward-looking Christians if that's what it wants. Sure, it's annoying that America happens to be the most powerful country in the world, but it's hardly that country's fault that the world turned out that way. It's the rest of the world that's got to buck up!
