We expect strangers to be kind.

Tonight I watched an episode of Everest: Beyond the Limit, though not the one with David Sharp in it. I'm glad. I think that would have depressed me.

We expect strangers to be kind. When they are not, it scares us.

I think when we see others acting selfishly, we see something of ourselves that we don't like to be reminded of.

I think what I fear most is not what horrible act others can unleash on me, but the propensity for evil that I recognize in myself.

What are we to do with our two sides, our Jekyll and Hyde natures? A meditating person would say, "See the Divine." But it's hard to see The God of our darker stuff.

Diz,
I'm glad you're back. I don't think we can get rid the dark side without destroying the good side. I guess that's when the good comes handy.
