A little embarassed

When I said I needed a "better" photo, I was referring to the grain quality -- not my face! The head shot I'm presently using as my "About" photo has been cropped from a larger photo and looks grainy when posted at a width of 150 pixels. This is especially true on IE, which is what a lot of you use. On top of that, when the file size is reduced for use on the Web, the image comes out looking dark. Yet all of you seem to like it, so maybe I'll keep it the way it is.

A particularly annoying thing about Blogger, too, is that every so often they crawl into your HTML code to remove bits of personalized coding that you've added along the way, such as, in my case, a Robots META tag to prevent indexing. The unique spelling of my name means this site can be easily found by anyone who Googles me, and having a noindex, nofollow tag helps prevent that from happening.

Ideally, when the Secretary-General of the United Nations -- or anyone else I want to appear respectable to -- Googles me, I'd prefer that this website not be prominently displayed among the search results. But much to my chagrin, I discovered a few days ago that Blogger had stripped me of my noindex tag, causing aboutblogreader.blogspot.com to appear first on the Google list!

Seriously though, being Googled doesn't bother me. In fact, it's kind of nice. But since this website is (a) silly; (b) silly; and (c) frequented by the dubious likes of "The Tart", I am more than a little embarassed.

Hi Dear,

I like this pix too. It has a rustic look about it and somehow images of the beautiful Saloma came to mind. Lovely.

The current one is better, methinks. Very 1950's, which is DEFINITELY a good thing.

And here I was thinking the grany photo was some special effect you implemented to enhance the pared-down look of your blog. LOL!

Yeah, I looked super-scary in the other one because of all the make-up I had on. In this current photo, you see me looking naturally beautiful... ahak!

"Pared-down grainy" wasn't exactly the effect I was going for, but if you like it, I like it!
